The animals are androids, fledgling consciousnesses embodied just recently. Lodar's task is to help them settle into incarnation. In this scene, the androids are rehearsing for a tableau of a Watteau painting in which they will be playing the roles of putti. The androids are here practicising transfering their conscious attention to the puttis floating above them while their "real" bodies rest in the shade of a tree in the garden.Lodar is the carefree protagonist that inhabits the ideal city. As we follow Lodar and his friends on errands and adventures we discover that utopia is more than the glass and moss structures of Central Shield. The real treasure is the carefree life that is yet full of learning, belonging, and purpose that its inhabitants live. Their stories explore  how individuals find meaning in a culture of abundance, novelty and affirmation.
