Geoms

Geom 1, 2011
Geom 1 painted paper sculpture by Marc Ngui and Magda Wojtyra. Paper card, glue, acrylic gouache, fishing line, 2011. This Geom is about the size of a football.

Geoms are paper sculptures hand painted with acrylic guache and detailed with jelly roller lines. Especially online they look quite digital, and even in real life they have this effect as the black gouache is particularly matte and light absorbing, and many of the colours are fluorescent (yellow, pink).  The effect is quite bamboozling to the eye and the brain clicks along trying to integrate the flatness and 3D-ness of it all. Especially with any movement.
