I collaborated with physicist Sean Gryb for the annual FQXi Essay Contest with a submissions titled “Is Spacetime Countable?”. Below is a selection of the images or download the essay to see all.
Sean is a theoretical physicist working in the emerging field of shape dynamics, a fascinating approach to the problem of uniting gravity and quantum mechanics in one system, called quantum gravity.
FQXi is the Foundational Questions institute with the following stated mission:
“To catalyze, support, and disseminate research on questions at the foundations of physics and cosmology, particularly new frontiers and innovative ideas integral to a deep understanding of reality but unlikely to be supported by conventional funding sources.”
The theme question for this year’s contest is “It from Bit or Bit from It?” All of the essays are available for public viewing and rating.
