When we invent the future, the most important thing is to capture is the feeling so that we can make a connection to that time space and then climb up and forward just like a mountain climber who uses safety ropes on a sheer cliff wall.
So what is it like to live in the future, in Central Shield?
The animated gif cartoon above was created by taking vignettes from one of Marc’s latest panoramic views, showing scenes from the daily life of the citizens of Central Shield as well as some of the infrastructure and how the urban area connected to its land.
At dusk, the mega-infrastructure of the Wind Nets just offshore billow in the sky and glow in the setting sun. At an upper level terrace party, supplies arrive by winged courier. A spider robot is in a private therapy session with a human dexterity expert. And just below on the cafe lined terrace, an older model but loyal BD Big Dog goes for a walk with her master. Citizens stroll along streams in the blue dusk or pause along railings to catch the last of our closest star’s rays.
This illustration is still a work in progress and more details will be added but we couldn’t wait to share some of our delight in how this Future Parfait world building project is starting to come together.
