Robert Anton Wilson explains our favorite model of human consciousness

They are each sides of a tape and about 45 minutes long, and together are the third session of the famous “Sounds True” interview.

On this tape Wilson talks about how he got into thinking about these topics in the first place and then famously describes Timothy Leary‘s Eight Circuit Model of Human Consciousness. Leary is quoted to say that Wilson could explain his model than Leary could himself.

The animation at the top of this story is called Totem Pill, a diagram of the Eight Circuit Model of Human Consciousness inspired by Wilson’s description.

The animation is set to “The Grand Elixir” by Ocote Soul Sounds and Adrian Quesada, from the album “The Alchemist Manifesto” (2008 ESL Music).
